What Types of Coaching Do You Do?
People come to coaching for a variety of reasons. Some partner with a life
coach because they want to squash, once and for all, their "do-it-all, be-it-all"
syndrome by focusing on what truly matters, giving them a life of balance with
more time for family and the things they love. Others partner with a life coach
because they are not satisfied with mediocrity and want to live a life that's
extraordinary. Some simply want a life with deep meaning and purpose.
Others have goals--in their relationships, in their career, in their life--that they
want to reach, quickly. But regardless of the myriad reasons someone
collaborates with a lifecoach, they all recognize this: having a coach who
motivates, challenges, gently pushes, and holds them accountable gets them
to take action! In fact, independent studies, including a major study done by
the International Coaching Federation, have shown the average return on
investment on coaching to exceed 500%, with a 98.5% overall client
satisfaction rate.
The following are many areas that coaching addresses as well as some of the
primary benefits of coaching:
Types and Benefits of Life Coaching
Life Purpose Coaching: Coaching people to discover their life purpose and a vision for their lives, then to create the steps necessary to live that out. Benefits: life without mediocrity but with meaning, peace because you are following God's plan and will for your life, joy because there's nothing like doing what you were called to do, an understanding of your priorities because they align with your purpose and vision, and great personal fulfillment!
Marriage and Relationship Coaching: Coaching couples (individually or together) on how to keep passion and purpose in their relationship alive so that counseling never has to take place. Basically, coaching couples to go from an ordinary marriage to one that's extraordinary. Benefits: a marriage with a common vision and purpose, marriage growth, discerning and meeting the needs of your spouse, more fun and joy (rather than just living day-to-day), and renewed intimacy.
Time Management/Organization Coaching: Coaching people to better manage their time, to clarify priorities, to organize the various "compartments" of life, and to take steps that will bring about peace. Benefits: squashing the "do-it-all, be-it-all" syndrome (once and for all!), more efficient use of time, a lifestyle that's aligned with your values and priorities, better focus on your relationships and career, a shorter to-do list, less stress, and more time for family, friends, and the things you really love to do.
Work-Life Balance Coaching: Coaching people to discover the appropriate balance among work, home-life, relationships, and so forth. Benefits: clarity on how to spend your time and energy, being more focused and present at work and at home, more time doing the things you love to do and with the people you love, more energy at work as well as at home, less stress, and more peace.
Parent Coaching: Coaching parents to find peace, pleasure, and purpose in their parenting, so they can have meaningful relationships with their children. Benefits: a vision of the kind of parent you want to be as well as the kind of adults you want your children to become, thoughtful discipline strategies, improved communication between parents and children, more peace in the house, and a closer relationship with your children--one that is lasting and fulfilling.
Transition Coaching: Coaching people to move through transitions (e.g.: death, divorce, career change, a move...) and to set new goals for successful living. Benefits: a clear direction, less disorganization, a proper focus, less stress, and more joy.
Retirement Coaching: Coaching retired people and those soon to be retired to discover a new direction, to clarify their purpose, and to find success and fulfillment in this new phase of life. Benefits: discerning a proper balance among paid work (full time/part time), volunteer work, leisure, activities/hobbies, and relationships; a retirement that is meaningful and filled with purpose; knowledge that you truly lived a life that "counts"; and the discovery of exciting new possibilities.
Coaching Parents of Children with Disabilities: Empowering parents of children with disabilities to have a richer, more fulfilling life than they ever thought possible. Benefits: a stronger marriage, less sibling issues, better time management, meeting your own personal needs and goals, less stress in the house, and more contentment, joy, and peace.
